Ministry Months- Giving Back

Ministry Month is something that we started through Well Nested, LLC, as a way to give back to our community and organizations that we love. Well Nested, from the start, has never been about retailing products only. We have had a desire from the time this store was just an idea to be able to do more for others and make an impact for Christ in our world. Periodically, we select ministries, charities, organizations and groups to donate to. There are several ways that we do this:

1. By donating a portion of our proceeds during a particular time period.

2. By collection of customer donations to go along with store proceed donations.

3. By hosting drives or fundraising events.

Current Ministry Month:

On Tuesday, December 3, SHOP with us for Giving Tuesday!!

We are matching sales from that day

to buy toys, clothing and other wishes for our local Angel Tree children (in Washington County, Alabama).

We want this day to be the best day ever (bigger than Black Friday!!) so we can buy a sleigh full of toys and gifts for these kiddos! This will be our last Ministry Month of 2019, so spread the word to help us make this one the best one! We will also use a portion of our proceeds from the remainder of the week to buy additional toys! Let’s do this!!

If you’d like to donate in lieu of shopping with us, simply click the Ministry Month tab on our website and you’ll find a place to do so. 100% of your donations will be used to buy Angel wish items.

Looking for a different way to help? Find an Angel Tree in your community and shop for some of the items, donate new and unwrapped toys to Toys for Tots, donate food items to your local food pantry, volunteer, donate animal supplies to a local shelter, sign up to serve meals at a soup kitchen, visit a neighbor who doesn’t get out much, sing Carols at a nursing home. Let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus this season!

MAY 2019- Fresh Flower Arrangements for Moms inpatient at                                 USA Children's and Women's Hospital

We are thrilled to announce our Ministry Month for May in memory of my (Lindsey’s) mother, Denise. Denise’s birthday was in May, and May is also Brain Cancer Awareness Month.

Well Nested is partnering with our friends and local growers GreenHouse Farms and Be Your Own CEO; Chief Encouragement Officer to provide fresh floral bouquets to mothers who are hospitalized at Children’s and Women’s Hospital in Mobile. Our goal is to provide the gorgeous arrangements from GreenHouse Farms in Citronelle, AL to as many moms as possible, especially those dealing with cancer or other difficulties who need to know that we are cheering them on!

How can you help?

During the entire month of May, a portion of our proceeds will go towards purchasing $15 Fresh-Cut Milk Bottle arrangements from GreenHouse Farms to be delivered to the hospital.

Also, for every purchase from our new "Faith > Fear” collection, we will donate $5 towards one Milk Bottle Arrangement. Click *here* to view the items.

You can also sponsor a Milk Bottle arrangement for $15 by clicking the link below and ordering an arrangement directly from our friends at GreenHouse Farms. We will be working with them and CoCo Green of Be Your Own CEO; Chief Encouragement Officer to deliver the arrangements.

If you'd like to contribute towards arrangements, please send us a message and we will gladly put your contribution towards an arrangement.

AUGUST 2018- Birthday Party Bags for Area Food Bank

We saw a wonderful opportunity for giving thanks to an idea from the Live Like Libby, Love Like Libby Foundation of West Alabama. Children who receive their groceries and meals from food banks and meal kitchens likely don't have the "luxury" of a birthday party. We offered online options for our customers to purchase $12 Birthday Bags that we put together and delivered to a local food pantry. The bags included everything needed for a small party- cake mix, icing, cake decorations, plates, napkins, candles, party hats/banners/horns, and cupcake liners. We reached out to the Live Like Libby, Love Like Libby Foundation to ask permission to use their idea, in honor of Libby, and they not only agreed, but they sent us Random Acts of Kindness cards that we attached to each bag to share Libby's story.

Our amazing and generous customers purchased 10 of these bags and, together, we donated 28 Birthday Party Bags to Prodisee Pantry in Spanish Fort, AL. They feed thousands of families along the Gulf Coast states.

MAY 2018- Mother's Day Ministry for Hope's Choice of West Alabama

From April 1, 2018 through Mother's Day 2018, we collected a portion of our proceeds for Hope's Choice of West Alabama. Hope's Choice is a ministry that provides supplies, education, and support to mothers in need. They walk with mothers through their pregnancy and beyond, offering everything from maternity clothing to baby gear and furniture, and everything in between.

The director of Hope's Choice is a longtime friend of ours, and when we reached out to her to find out the needs, she graciously sent us a list. To make things even more convenient, we were able to order the needed supplies online through Amazon and have them shipped to Hope's Choice. Before checking out, we selected Hope's Choice as our Amazon Smile partner so the organization would receive a donation from Amazon for our purchase as well. We were thrilled to be able to donate $200 of diapers, wipes, diaper cream, baby socks, and more!
